Workforce Development Program

Investing in the workforce of tomorrow.

Our Workforce Development Program offers students workforce-ready skills that prepare them for career success. The program operates in structured groups throughout the year where construction interns work alongside contractors and staff on actual home construction and repair projects, while administrative interns assist departments with marketing and fundraising efforts. All of our interns receive mentorship, career guidance and training in essential skills, including communication, time management and financial literacy. By completing the program, participants gain hands-on experience, professional references and connections to opportunities in their chosen fields.

Our Work

We are investing in the next generation of professionals through hands-on internships. By leveraging the expertise of industry leaders, we connect aspiring professionals with invaluable training and mentorship to equip them with the skills and experience to establish a career.

We are developing a qualified workforce for tomorrow that will help our community thrive.

Workforce Development Program

Through paid, hands-on internships in both skilled trades and nonprofit administration, interns receive equitable financial and professional growth opportunities. In partnership with Latino Center of the Midlands, the Siembra Construcción internship trains interns in residential construction, giving young adults practical experience supporting both our Home Affordability and Home Preservation programs. Additionally, we offer administrative internships in areas such as marketing, social work, communications and fundraising, allowing students and emerging professionals to learn about nonprofit operations while contributing to our mission.
